I’ve said it before – there’s no propriety in reviewing your own show. But to my ears, Decembering With Buzz Bands LA on Wednesday night at the Echo was a big hit, from the soaring, uplifting melodies of Square on Square, to the gritty, Dylan-flavored rock of KAV, to the layered roar of the rejuvenated Helen Stellar and to the agit-rock nightcap delivered by Nightmare Air. Thanks to those four bands, to Mark Sovel, aka Mr. Shovel, for his heady DJ mix between sets and to the folks who helped me mount the show.
