The first EP from Riverside-based Summer Twins is sibling revelry indeed. Sisters Chelsea and Justine Brown make scratchy/sparkly cherub pop that’s sweet and guileless, and if the vocals on “The Good Things” (released in August) are still a work in progress, well, we could name-check a lot indie songstresses who started this way. Bassist Danny Delgado and guitarist Marco Rivera join the Twins’ live lineup; I suspect we’ll be seeing them a lot in L.A. in future months.

Summer Twins are terrific! The show Saturday displayed great Byrds-y guitar playing and excellent songs–many new. One of the best shows I’ve seen all year!!!
Excellent band…definitely deserve the recognition.
