The Cure to play first 3 albums, 3 straight nights

The Cure are taking the “album concert” to another level. The Goth forerunners are planning a “Relections” tour on which they will play their first three albums in their entirety at each show, followed by an encore of other favorites. The Los Angeles dates are Nov. 21, 22 and 23 at the Pantages Theatre, and tickets ($105/$85/$65) go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 31.

The evening will break down like this: The first 40-minute set will be the band’s 1979 debut “Three Imaginary Boys,” with Robert Smith heading up a trio with bassist Simon Gallup and drummer Jason Cooper. For the second set, 1980’s “Seventeen Seconds,” keyboardist Roger O’Donnell joins Smith, Gallup and Cooper. And for the third set, 1981’s “Faith,” keyboardist/percussionist Laurence Tolhurst rounds out the band. A half-hour encore follows.
