Deep Sea Diver’s debut “History Speaks” is one of those albums that reveals itself in layers – peel back one and another appears, possibly more mysterious and probably even more alluring. At the current rate of return spins, it’ll be a contender for our album of the year, if it wasn’t immediately. To background [in case you missed our download post on “You Go Running”], Deep Sea Diver is the brainchild of Jessica Dobson, who hails from SoCal and after stints with Beck and Yeah Yeah Yeahs is currently playing guitar with the Shins. Long Beach’s Matt Wignall, a visual and collaborator with many local bands over the years, did the video for “NWO.” Can’t recommend this enough.
