‣ Portland sextet Blind Pilot [pictured] headlines the Fonda Theatre, part of a big tour behind its successful sophomore album “We Are the Tide.” Laura Gibson and Holiday Friends support.
‣ Rancid, Reverend Horton Heat, Lucero and Bouncing Souls are among the attractions today at the annual Hootenanny at Oak Canyon Ranch in Orange County.
‣ YACHT and PAPA are doing a free show at the Bootleg Bar – if you RSVP here – in conjunction with Vans.
‣ The Little Ones plays as part of a night called “Eat See Hear” at Grand Hope Park downtown (the evening includes a screening of “Dazed & Confused”).
‣ Mary Lorson (Madder Rose, Saint Low) does an early set at the Hotel Cafe behind her recent album “BurnBabyBurn” [see our post]. Also at the Cafe tonight: Elevaters, Marc Robillard and Jamar Rogers.
‣ Olentangy John does a goodbye show (he’s moving from L.A. to New York) at Echo Country Outpost (5 p.m.).
