Stream: The Black Apples, ‘Cover Up’

The Black Apples arrived in L.A. from Colorado in 2010 with a bang – the psychedelic garage-rock on their self-titled debut album sounded like a soul train being driven full-bore into a drunken re-creation of “Beach Blanket Bingo.” Native New Yorkers Andrew and Campbell Scarborough rein things in a little bit on their breezy new single “Cover Up,” which sounds a little bit like a famous NYC band from last decade tossing away their leather jackets to chew up southern California’s coastal scenery. The song comes out next week as a 7-inch single as the Black Apples hunker down in the studio to work on their sophomore album.
