Premiere: Montë Mar, ‘Reason Why’

0

It’s not surprising to hear that members of pop quartet Montë Mar have been busy on tour with other bands (Bill Zimmerman played keys with America and Kyle Crane has been drumming with Everest). But even with their hectic schedules as in-demand musicians, the band has been working together to release songs, one at a time, to follow-up their gorgeous “Different Place” EP. Anticipating a full-length debut in late 2013, Montë Mar’s sophisticated take on pop features sturdy yet intricate song structures. “Reason Why” is the first taste we get from the series of new material. Island undertones have stayed intact, but the song’s bass lines boldly beckon and synths are at their most flirtatious, rocking and swaying in all the right places.
