Eastern Conference Champions, Y LUV, Troup, Drive He Said and Western Scene are among the bands rocking the Local Music Stage on Feb. 16 and 17 as Chinatown plays host to the Year of the Snake Lunar New Year Festival.

In all, 11 emerging local bands will play the outdoor stage (located steps away from the Grand Star Jazz Club and the former site of historic Madame Wong’) on that Saturday and Sunday. Sets on Saturday will sandwich the big 114th Annual Golden Dragon Parade through the heart of Chinatown. The festivities include cultural performances on a stage in Chinatown’s Central Plaza, children’s activities, food vendors and a Local Music Stage-convenient craft beer garden from Eagle Rock Brewery. The event is free.

Besides the aforementioned bands, the Local Music Stage, sponsored by LA Weekly, weekend will feature sets from Spirit Vine, Random Ninjas, Mind the Gap, the Vim Dicta, Daniel Ahearn & the Jones and TM87. The local music stage is curated by Buzz Bands LA. More info here.
