Sunday’s second day of the Year of the Snake Lunar New Year Festival in Chinatown was a little more chill than the parade-filled first day, but there was plenty of energy on the local music stage, where random ninjas crashed the set by the taiko-drum-wielding Random Ninjas, young trio the Vim Dicta played a set of show-stealing psychedelic blues, Y LUV closed with an exuberant set of indie-pop, Drive He Said delivered a propulsive batch of Boss-like anthems and TM87 set the tone early with its sharp-edged rock. Same time next year? Or maybe sooner, since the local music stage returns in June for the Chinatown Summer Nights series.
