Ghost Loft

We’ve heard Danny Choi’s smooth chops before when we became smitten with the warm R&B tune “Blow.” Now Choi – aka Ghost Loft – has a new track on the new compilation from the French label Kitsuné, “America 2.” Ghost Loft’s “So High” emits such  euphoric summer-night vibes that it won’t matter how much coffee you’s gulped down during the day. The L.A. producer has done a handful of remixes for jj, the Neighbourhood, Icky Blossoms and Little Daylight, but it’s his own compositions that leave an impressive resonance. In preparation for his forthcoming debut EP, Choi’s previous single “Seconds” produced a similar synthesis of glitchy hooks, down-tempo beats and sleek atmospherics, but “So High” offers a dark, misty beauty that straddles both the electronic and dream-pop realms via hypnotic synth riffs and echoing vocals. It’s clear that Ghost Loft’s repertoire is born from a supernatural type of seduction, but it’s a blissful spell we’re under. Kitsuné’s compilation “America 2” is out now and also features DWNTWN, Toro Y Moi, Chrome Sparks, PAPA and more.
