Video: Trixie Whitley, ‘Breathe You In My Dreams’

Things are not always in black and white, but there are meanings within the shadows, and Trixie Whitley has been one to sing every emotion treading space between light and darkness. Her stunning debut “Fourth Corner” (out now on Strong Blood records) appropriately touches on every every facet of blues, soul and rock, proving the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. (Her father is the late blues icon Chris Whitley.) Notable tracks off her album are the vulnerable “Need Your Love” and “Never Enough,” but her new Matthu Placek-directed music video has us returning to the standout track “Breathe You In My Dreams.” A song written after awakening in the middle of the night only to feel an aching urgency caused by a long-distance relationship is beautifully paired with a surprise ending in its accompanying clip.
