‣ At the El Rey Theatre, it’s Surfer Blood rocking tunes from their latest album “Pythons,” with Team Spirit and Andy Boay opening.
‣ U.K. folk singer Laura Marling plays the Cathedral Sanctuary at Immanuel Presbyterian Church (3300 Wilshire Blvd.) behind her latest album “Once I Was an Eagle.”
‣ Twin Forks – the new band featuring Dashboard Confessional’s Chris Carrabba – plays the Troubadour, supported by Matrimony and the Eagle Rock Gospel Singers.
‣ And the Monday night residencies rage on: Max & the Moon at the Bootleg Bar (with Harper Blynn, the Tragic Thrills and Neighbors); Spirit Vine at the Satellite (with Fever the Ghost, Gateway Drugs, Guy Blakeslee and Beach Party); Haunted Summer at the Echo (with Northern Youth, White Dove and Tenlons Fort); and PLUS at the Silverlake Lounge (with David & Olivia, Exes and Maxi Wild).
