Skirball Center announces genre-spanning lineup for free ‘Sunset Concerts’ series beginning in July

The Haden Triplets [pictured], whose debut album came out in February, are joined by Sub-Saharan dance music wonder Noura Mint Seymali, Cuban “son” group Conjunto Chappottín and zydeco marvels Jeffery Broussard & The Creole Cowboys on the schedule for the 18th annual “Sunset Concerts” series at the Skirball Center. The six free shows run weekly, on Thursdays, from July 24 through Aug. 24.

The genre-spanning series also features Flaco Jiménez and Max Baca & Los Texmaniacs, and the Yiddish Tango Club.

The shows start at 8 p.m. each night (doors at 7) and parking at the Skirball is $10. The center’s exhibitions (except Noah’s Ark) are also free and open until 10 p.m. each night.
