Ears Wide Open: Some Go Haunting

The elegant folk- and soul-tinged dream-pop of Some Go Haunting is the work of Aria Pullman and Jason Rivera, who after releasing an EP in 2012, elevated their profile this summer with the release of the painterly single “House of Arcadia.” The new song “Me & You” – from the forthcoming full-length “Wandering Souls” – earned them a nice payday last week. The song won a competition titled “beIN the Beat,” and the duo was flown to Miami to record a version of the song (at the Hit Factory Criteria studio) to be broadcast during the Real Madrid vs. FC Barcelona soccer match. Their sporting luck notwithstanding, “Me & You” and “House of Arcadia” show different shades of Some Go Haunting – the former earnest and grounded, the latter otherworldly and more inscrutable. “Wandering Souls,” co-produced by Pullman’s husband and Eastern Conference Champions frontman Joshua Ostrander, will be out in early 2015.
