Who: MØ in the Gobi Tent
In 3 or Fewer Words: MØ, ‘mo, more!
Memorable Because: Even after the sound completely cutting out during her first song, Danish pop singer MØ didn’t let those five stolen minutes bring her down. While stage technicians were desperately trying to fix the problem, fans were shouting her name until she finally greeted her fans with a big smile. “Thank you for staying!,” she gushed before whipping her long braid round and round again during “Walk This Way” and “Waste of Time.” Already having crowd-surfed before her hit “Don’t Wanna Dance,” MØ pulled out one more trick when she introduced rapper Elliphant to the stage for “One More.” There was no time for her cover of Spice Girls’ “Say You’ll Be There,” but she did perform “Lean On,” the Major Lazer and DJ Snake song on which is a vocalist and co-writer.
What I’d Tell My Friend Who Was the Orwells: Those kids are trouble! (But in the best way, so I commend your choice.)
