Welcome to the new Buzz Bands LA

1

Today we launch a freshly designed, responsive Buzz Bands LA. We hope you like it.

In its new format, our top offerings in each category appear at the top of the page. If you prefer the good ol’ reverse-chronological view, simply find “Latest” in the upper-left menu, or scroll down to it. In the coming weeks, we will be expanding our purview, offering more interviews, show coverage and concert previews.

The new site is the work of several months of brainstorming, debate and elbow grease by developer Michael Mancillas and myself. We chose both the format and fonts to be responsive on any device. (If you were going blind trying to read the site on your phone, our humble apologies, and bless you.)

When I started Buzz Bands LA almost seven years ago, it was basically a passion project, something to occupy my time after my tenure at the Los Angeles Times ended. The response from the L.A. community — fans, musicians, industry, advertisers and fellow music nerds (many of them writers and photographers) — has, and continues to be, inspiring. As the amount of time I have been able to devote to this project has varied over the years, Buzz Bands LA’s reach has far exceeded any expectations, and to those who have helped along the way: Thank you.

We invite your comments.
