Forty-six years ago, the Allman Brothers Band played for the first time at the iconic San Francisco venue the Fillmore East, where promoter Bill Graham was building his empire. In September, Gregg Allman will participate in a special program at the Skirball Cultural Center in conjunction with its current exhibition “Bill Graham and the Rock & Roll Revolution.”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is the focus of “Celebrating Gregg Allman: Storytelling and Special Performances,” which will also feature country music star Eric Church, at the Skirball on Sept. 24. The event, part of the Grammy Foundation Living Histories Program, will include conversations with both musicians moderated by the foundation’s Scott Goldman, and acoustic performances. The Skirball’s exhibition, which views Graham’s life and influence through memorabilia, photographs, archival concert footage, historical and new video interviews, ephemera and psychedelic art, will be open to ticketholders prior to the 8 p.m. show.

Tickets are $35 ($30 for Skirball members).
