There will be blood. The new video from L.A. quartet Mirror Talk — Court Alexander, Steven Lopez, Sean Krell and Dave Lewis — is an homage to the synth-scored slasher flicks of the 1980s. Directed by Ryan Aylsworth from a concept by Lopez, “1/M/T” (short for “One More Time”) features Lola Blanc, Sara Mohr, Lauren Kaplow, Bryan Weisberg and Jef Harmatz doing the ol’ weekend-at-the-thing, and … cue the music. Here it’s a rather strange juxtaposition of the macabre and the dancey, but, as the band explains: “They are specific reference points in our rendition of this song, which we read as a pained, endlessly repeating plea to be reminded of one’s inadequacies. It felt a bit crazy. Almost masochistic.” The song is from the band’s hook-a-minute EP “1997,” released in May. Disco ’til you die, friends.
