Mystic Braves’ forthcoming third album is titled “Days of Yesteryear,” and the L.A. quintet looked and sounded the part on Friday night at the Teragram Ballroom, throwing down dreamy jams amidst a liquid light show from Mad Alchemy.

The Creation Factory, featuring members of Electric Magpie and the headliners Mystic Braves, started the night off with their 1960s-infused psychedelia, but things got edgier for the next two bands. Country-tinged The Abigails, fronted by the wobbly Warren Thomas, dished out some swagger and sneering vocals, and rabble-rousers No Parents followed, with frontman Zoe Reign managing to stay fully clothed at this show but still offering some comical showmanship. At one point, he tossed a pizza-box into the mosh pit, saying “Be respectful. Punk’s dead. Eat some pizza.”

Mystic Braves, in the middle of a small West Coast tour, return to SoCal on Oct. 24 to play Beach Goth 4 (along with No Parents and a bunch of others) at the Observatory.
