Even given the preponderance of obtuse band names, we suspected “Slopo & the Jackers” were not a real thing.
It turns out that the band headlining the cozy Silverlake Lounge tonight is Ty Segall & the Muggers, doing a warm-up gig for their Teragram Ballroom shows on Jan. 15 and 16. Segall is releasing the new album “Emotional Mugger” on Jan. 22 via Drag City. Opening tonight’s show, billed as “The Band (U.K.),” is CFM, the band fronted by Segall’s bandmate Charles Moothart.
As of right now, a few tickets remain for tonight. Ready, set, go.
