Post Life make the kind of feisty, urgent indie-punk that never goes out of style — all exposed nerve endings set to racehorse rhythms and prickly guitars. Not that you should divine, either from their name or from songs like “23” (“Sometimes it’s all a waste / Sometimes it’s a disgrace”), that the L.A. quartet is somehow fatalistic, or just making noise so you can mosh your ya-ya’s out. The raw, bittersweet vocals on their album “Living Can Wait,” released last fall via Papermade, strike a youthful, triumphant tone, whether wishing for more “Serotonin” or embroiled in arguments that make relationships “Dissolve.” The album is the work of singer-guitar Brianna Meli, bassist-singer Greg Shilton, guitarist Michael Reyder and drummer Erik Felix (who have played in local bands such as So Many Wizards, Peter Pants and Palm Reader), and it was recorded in the Ocotillo inside Pehrspace. Long live DIY.
