Florida-bred indie-rockers Surfer Blood have been around for six years, and their third album “1000 Palms” came out last May, but Friday night’s show at the Teragram Ballroom felt like a just-getting-to-know-you affair. Frontman John Paul Pitts introduced two new band members — guitarist Mike McCleary, who is filling in for cancer-stricken Thomas Fekete, and bassist Lindsey Mills, who replaced Kevin Williams last fall.

Midway through the set, the band gave out Sour Patch Kids candy to the crowd, and during “Take It Easy” Pitts forayed into the audience for a round of selfies. Surfer Blood’s 12-song set was divided between their three releases — four songs, including finisher “I Can’t Explain,” from “1000 Palms;” three from 2013’s “Pythons” and four from the 2010 debut “Astro Coast,” with their first single “Swim” as the penultimate song. Plus, the 2011 EP track “Miranda.” Openers Cayucas joined Surfer Blood for an encore of “La Bamba.”
