Lawrence Rothman

It is time to experience the third video Lawrence Rothman has released in advance of his upcoming album on Downtown Records. A man who consistently keeps things weird and glamorous, Rothman teamed up once again with director Floria Sigismondi, whose credits include Marilyn Manson’s “Beautiful People” (we can never forget that one), Christina’s “Fighter,” Katy Perry’s “ET,” and clips for David Bowie, Bjork, Interpol and much more, in addition to working on all his videos since 2013. The video for “H” features Rothman sporting a few extra arms and local fabulous dance troupe WIFE in a dusty warehouse moving around like somnambulist cake toppers. “H” is “about how we all go a little mad sometimes, but using the insanity to improve upon your craft,” says Rothman, sharing his feelings about the shady side of the glamorized Los Angeles life. The slow stroking howling tune features Jim Keltner on drums, who played with John Lennon and George Harrison, Roger Manning Jr. from Beck on piano, Pino Palladino on bass (D’Angello, Adele, NIN, and more) and Carla Azar from Autolux. The all-star credits keep mounting as each new song gets released. Angel Olsen, Kim Gordon, and Ariel Pink also make appearances on the album. We’re ready for the whole thing to arrive.
