Chicago mashup DJs the Hood Internet — Aaron Brink and Steve Reidell — will play 2016’s first installment of the popular First Fridays series at the Natural History Museum. The series starts Feb. 5.

The theme for this year’s monthly series is “Big Screen, Bigger Science,” featuring programs exploring the intersection of science and science fiction. There are early guided tours of the museums and discussions leading up to the musical performances. North Carolina’s Boulevards is the opener, and the night will have a pop-up performances by Mark Redito (fka Spazzkid). KCRW’s Aaron Byrd and Anthony Valadez spin in the DJ lounge.

Tickets are $18 for non-members and available here. The night is free for NHM members, but you must reserve tickets.
