Andrew Bird’s new album “Are You Serious” won’t be out until April 1, but a sold-out crowd at the Teragram Ballroom on Tuesday got a full preview. Bird and his band, which included album contributor Blake Mills, played it in its entirety, along with a handful of other songs. The show had its rough edges — the band had a few hiccups and false starts — but overall the new songs, especially “Capsized” and “Chemical Switches” (among the songs he had played on previous visits to L.A.), were enthusiastically received.
Rodrigo Amarante opened the night with a magnetic solo performance.
