Mt. Si

Jesse Kivel (Kisses), Michael David (Classixx) and Sarah Chernoff (Superhumanoids) share their second track as Mt. Si, from their EP, “Limits.” The video for “Oh” takes us to a mountain range outside Tel Aviv, Israel, bringing to life a photo that inspired the band, their sort of nature-muse. Kivel says, “That picture and its stillness has come to define Mt. Si and the patient space the group exists in.” Chernoff traveled to Israel with video director Garret Curtis to capture the beauty of the mountains with the sun coming and going, and she looks out to the distance, a mixture of sadness and awe in her eyes.  “Sarah stands before a mountain, thousands and thousands of years old. The sun goes up, the sun goes down. Life, death, an existential crisis, floating in the Dead Sea, stuck in limbo, it’s all in there.” Well, if you’re going to have an existential crisis anywhere, sunset on an ancient mountain seems like a good place.
