Beer. Pizza. Sex. Zombies. Sweat. Weed. Slayer. Apocalypse. If Zig Zags had a mantra, it might go something like that. The new album from Jed Maheu, Caleb Miller and Dane Arnold, “Running Out Of Red,” comes packed with 12 blistering new songs for driving drunk into the end of days. It’ll be released May 20 on Castle Face Records. Titles like “No Brains No Balls,” “Night Of The Knife,” “Sin Eaters” and “Afraid Of The Dark” could easily be the premise of some 1980s slasher films condensed into a few minutes of heavy rock and roll. First single “They Came For Us” is doom served with a fuck-it attitude, welcoming the alien apocalypse gripping a splintered bat in one hand and a six-pack of cheap beer in the other. It’s music that parents won’t like.
