Radiohead capped a week of playing cat-and-mouse with fans salivating over the prospects of new music by releasing a new single today. The string-drenched “Burn the Witch,” their first new music since 2011, arrived a few days after the band mailed U.K. fans mysterious leaflets bearing the messages “Sing the song of sixpence, burn the witch” and “We know where you live,” and then deleted its website and other online presences over the weekend. The new song comes via XL Recordings, and is accompanied by director Chris Hopewell’s animated video in which a seemingly bucolic village full of puppets welcomes a visitor. It gets hot.
