Friday’s Los Angeles concerts:

First Fridays at the Natural History Museum will feature an appearance by Neil Young — hosting a listening party for his new album “EARTH” — along with live sets from Escondido, Paul Bergmann and Korey Dane.
► An all-L.A., all-star lineup brings X, Los Lobos and the Blasters to the Observatory.
Rooney [see “My Heart Beats 4 U”] celebrate the release of the new album “Washed Away” — the band’s first since 2010 — with a show at the Teragram Ballroom.
Jackson Browne visits Orange County’s Segerstrom Hall.
► It’s a second night of Explosions in the Sky, along with Disappears, at the Theatre at Ace Hotel
► Long-running rockers Dream Theater play the Wiltern in support of their new album “The Astonishing.”
► A big weekend for Kaskade: The DJ/producer opened a pop-up shop at 410 N. Fairfax; he plays the  Hollywood Palladium tonight (an “intimate” show, he calls it) and gets ready to play the L.A. Convention Center on Saturday.
► Ambient metal dudes Sunn O))) hold forth at the Regent Theater, joined by Big Brave and Hissing.
Sonny Boy Thorn rock the Bootleg Theater, supported by Troup and Bloodboy.
► Davey Havok brings his electronic duo Blaqk Audio to the Troubadour, with Night Riots supporting.
► And Minnesota indie-rockers Hippo Campus headline the Echo, supported by Riothorse Royale.
