Vocalist Dennis Lyxzén of Refused expressed his disbelief Friday night at the current state of politics in the United States, then the Swedish hardcore giants went about playing a set at the Fonda Theatre as if they could shift the political axis. With Lyxzén jumping, screaming, going into the crowd and executing some epic mic tosses, Refused roared as they returned to L.A. for the second time since the 2015 release of “Freedom,” their first album in 17 years.

The Coathangers and Plague Vendor opened the night.
