Phantoms

L.A. electro phenoms Phantoms debuted in late 2014 with the bouncy “Broken Halo” before bouncing back last fall with their debut EP via Casablanca Records. While the duo — Kyle Kaplan and Vinnie Pergola — have teased releasing a full-length later this year, they raised a few eyebrows earlier this month with their dark disco take on the classic rock chestnut “Cocaine.” And now they’ve followed up with the bright “Call My Name,” which features vocals by actor Skylar Astin (“Pitch Perfect”). The duo call it their most “summery” song yet, saying: “A lot of our songs tend to be centered around moral grey areas and darker themes — but for this one we wanted to capture the excitement of when you start falling for someone.” This one will work in the afternoon sunshine at Make Music Pasadena.
