The National’s grandiose performance at the Greek Theatre on Thursday night included a handful of new songs, a healthy dose of material from 2010’s “High Violet” and 2013’s “Trouble Will Find Me” and guest appearances from the War on Drugs’ Adam Granduciel and St. Vincent’s Annie Clark.

Many of the new songs — “Sometimes I Don’t Think” (the opener), “The Day I Die” and “I’ll Find a Way” were among the five — have tentative titles, frontman Matt Berninger explained. The highlight of the new material came during the encore when Clark joined the band for “Prom Song 13th Century.” Granduciel played on “Terrible Love” and “The Day I Die,” which ended the main portion of the 23-song set.

The Lone Bellow opened the show.
