“You should appreciate this view,” Ra Ra Riot’s Wes Miles told the crowd Saturday evening, pointing to the sunset. “We don’t get views like that in New York.” With that, the New York indie-rockers carried on with their picturesque show at Burton Chace Park, part of Marina Del Rey’s free Summer Concerts series.

The band, whose new album “Need Your Light,” was released earlier this year, played a set that included the current single “Water” to a crowd that included the song’s co-writer Rostam Batmanglij (ex-Vampire Weekend, now making music with the Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser. Also in the crowd were Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, Rashida Jones and Jonah Hill. They heard new songs and old, including 2009’s “Can You Tell” and 2010’s “Boy.”
