The abundance of shows and free concerts Saturday night didn’t put a damper on the final Chinatown Summer Nights of 2016 — and the throng that showed up at the Live Music Stage near Chinatown Central Plaza were not disappointed. Sonny Boy Thorn capped a long night with a euphoric set, after Beginners led a dance party and Dream Club played a feel-good set of California rock. They were preceded by Tower, Ramonda Hammer, Lone Kodiak and Night Talks at the free, all-ages affair, with Jason Bentley and Mathieu Schreyer doing sets on the KCRW stage. It was worth every blast from the confetti cannons.
Next up in Chinatown: The 78th annual Mid-Autumn Moon Festival on Saturday, Sept. 17. The seven-band lineup will be announced on Monday.
