Glass Animals delivered an excited set at Greek Theatre on Sunday night, the last show of their U.S. tour. Playing against a desert background, with cactus cut-outs and large tetris-shaped light fixtures illuminated by warm hues, the English rock band played songs from 2014’s “Zaba” and the August-released “How To Be A Human Being.” All the songs on the new album were created from hours of recordings lead singer and producer Dave Bayley collected on his phone from strangers ranting, conversations at parties and shows, taxi rides, and other sneaky secret moments. Each song is written from the perspective of a different character, and Bayley seemed transported to the occasion he had captured as he sang each song. The crowd was thrilled from start to finish, especially for “Mambo,” Hazey,” and their hit, “Gooey,” which was received with screams of delight. An energetic performer, Bayley utilized the whole stage and even sang one song from the audience. Their set ended with a cover of “Love Lockdown” and “Pork Soda.” Scottish DJ Sam Gellaitry started the night with whirling ambient sounds that engaged the audience on many levels.
