Saturday’s Los Angeles shows:

► The fifth annual Beach Goth kicks off at the Observatory, featuring Patti Smith, Bon Iver, King Krule, James Blake, the Growlers and more. [Set times and info here.]
► It’s R. Kelly at the Microsoft Theater.
The Drums, touring behind last year’s album “Encyclopedia” and en route to a Sunday date at Beach Goth, headline the El Rey Theatre, with Froth opening.
Letters to Cleo [see “Can’t Say”] reunited at the Troubadour, with Allison Weiss opening.
► And with their new album “Heart Like a Levee” just out on Merge, Hiss Golden Messenger plays the Bootleg Theater. Tift Merritt opens.
