U.K. rockers Wild Beasts’ new single might be “Tough Guy,” but the band were giddy and gushing upon their arrival at the El Rey Theatre on Saturday night. The show was the second on their U.S. tour behind their new album “Boy King,” and frontman Hayden Thorpe enthused about how excited they were to be in L.A. The crowd returned the love, one bright voice shouting love for guitarist Tom Fleming. Wild Beasts kept the energy high all night, only slowing down for one song about “sadness and other British stuff.” It followed a solo opening set by Porcelain Raft — aka Italian singer-songwriter Mauro Remiddi — who had just announced that his new album, “Microclimate” (recorded in his Highland Park studio), would be out in February and included in his set the new single “Distant Shore.”
