From the same folks who’ve brought you 10 years of the Desert Stars Festival in Pioneertown comes a new weekender: the Starry Nites Festival, debuting March 18-19 in the mountains above Santa Barbara.

The first wave of bands announced for Starry Nites mixes veteran acts such the Alan Parson Project and Strawberry Alarm Clock (celebrating their 50 anniversary) with rockers such as the Kills, the Dandy Warhols, She Wants Revenge and Black Mountain. A healthy crop of Los Angeles locals (such as Feels, KOLARS, Nightmare Air and the Blank Tapes) also are among the first to be announced. In all, organizers plan to have 35-plus bands performing over four stages, along with DJs and visuals.

There will be on-site camping at the festival, which is located at Live Oak Campground off Highway 154, about 16 miles from downtown Santa Barbara. Starry Nites is selling early-bird passes here; via PledgeMusic; weekend passes are $150 and available here.
