Not exactly holiday cheer: Thieves made off with the musical gear and other items belonging to the bands Girl Tears and Horse Thief in separate incidents late in the week.

In the case of the L.A. punk trio Girl Tears, band member Kam Andresen’s garage was burgled and the perpetrators made off with four guitars, an amp and other items. The band is asking the music community to be on the lookout for the gear. Here is a rundown of stolen equipment here.

Oklahoma City-based quintet Horse Thief, who are scheduled to perform Monday night at Resident, were victimized while on tour in Portland; their van was broken into while parked outside the Bunk Bar. They have launched a fund-raising campaign to help them finish their tour and get back home.
