Video: Evan Blum, Lucy LaForge and Myke Wilken, ‘Christmas in LA’

Dear friends and relatives in the shivering and possibly snowbound regions East of Here: We miss you. We really do.

That’s the sentiment behind the new holiday original song “Christmas in LA,” in which three SoCal songwriters team up to lament the fact they can’t afford a trip back home, where they would be by the fire sipping Grandma’s cocoa. Instead, “I’m stuck here on the 405 / It’s 95 and I just want to die,” goes the song, a collaborative effort between Lucy La Forge (Lucy & La Mer), Myke Wilkin (We the Dreamers) and Evan Blum. It’s not only a really catchy and clever song, but it ponders the existence of “gluten-free organic vegan soy egg-free egg nog.”

In the video, the trio cavorts around the beach and finds a little touch of home at a local ice-skating rink. Oh, and they enjoy the weather.

Dear friends and relatives in the shivering and possibly snowbound regions East of Here: It’s not really that sunny and nice here in December all the time. Really. Take our word for it.
