Polarcode is the alliance of songwriter-keyboardist Eric Stang and drummer Mario Cerutti, who met in college a decade ago and after going through several incarnations have settled in as a duo who have released a steady stream of style-shifting singles and EPs. Most striking was “Crave You,” last year’s collab with Lauren Ruth Ward, one of several guests the duo have tapped for vocals. Polarcode’s newest is “Cut You Loose,” featuring Taylor John Williams (“The Voice,” Season 7) along with some tasty licks from guitarist Jon MacLennan. File at the funkier tip of new wave.
