Video: The Lemon Twigs, ‘I Wanna Prove To You’

Director Nick Roney took The Lemon Twigs brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario to visit his grandparents for four days in Utah in an attempt to explore the concept of love. The adorable, funny result is captured in the “I Wanna Prove To You” music video, as the boys bond with this happily married couple of 50 years, and do things like eat, sleep, play music, have a snowball fight, and get baptized in a frigid pond. “The song is about proving your love which is something I can’t really fathom,” Roney explains, “But I figured my grandparents knew something about it because they had been married for 50-years.” The brothers assimilated nicely, saying, “We had a great time getting to know Nick’s grandparents,” but Roney got a bit jealous as he seems to have been replaced. He adds, “Overall the experience was heartbreaking for me but I wish The Lemon Twigs and my grandparents the best and hold no ill-will against them.”

“I Wanna Prove To You” comes from the 4AD-released “Do Hollywood.”
