Rogue Wave gave the Eighties a fun ride Saturday night at the Troubadour, performing all nine songs on their new collection “Cover Me” and encoring with a handful of originals. The crowd was a mix of fans who were around when the night’s featured songs were hits and those whose musical awareness came later, but the good vibes were shared by all.

Nyles Lannon, aka N. Lannon, opened with a set of originals that included “Another Love” and “Endless Night” before Rogue Wave took the the stage, with Zach Schwartz asking “Are you guys ready for some Echo & the Bunnymen?” The crowd was — and they were ready for some Cure, ZZ Top, Genesis and the Romantics too. Included was the band’s cover of the Cult’s “She Sells Sanctuary,” about which Schwartz said, “It was hard to get Pat [Spurgeon] on board to cover because he hates the Cult, but now he likes them.” They finished their main set with the Romantics’ “Talking in Your Sleep,” before, in response to somebody in the crowd shouting “Play your own songs,” Rogue Wave returned for a quick set of their own “oldies,” songs from 2005 and ’07.

Setlist: Rescue (Echo & The Bunnymen), In Between Days (The Cure), Let My Love Open The Door (Pete Townshend), That’s All (Genesis), Sharp Dressed Man (ZZ Top), Bette Davis Eyes (Kim Carnes) She Sells Sanctuary (The Cult), Under The Milky Way (The Church) Talking In Your Sleep (The Romantics). Encore: Publish My Love, Ghost, Lake Michigan
