Scottish dance-rock band Franz Ferdinand will play their first Los Angeles show since 2013 when they visit the Regent Theater on June 12.

The band — now minus founding guitarist Nick McCarthy, who departed in 2016 — last played L.A. in July 2013, doing a surprise show at the Echoplex weeks before their fourth album “Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action” was released. In 2015, they released a collaborative album with Sparks, “FFS,” and toured behind it.

Scottish rockers the Jesus and Mary Chain have announced an L.A. date too. The band, whose new album “Damage and Joy” arrives March 24, will play the Wiltern on May 19.

The brothers Reid unveiled the first single “Amputation” in December, and earlier this month followed it up with “Always Sad.”
