Nite Jewel‘s fourth studio album, “Real High,” will arrive May 5 on her label, Gloriette Records. A collection of smooth ballads and dancefloor-ready jams, Ramona Gonzalez not only draws from the sonic palette of early ’90s R&B-pop, but explores themes of feminine identity similar to Janet Jackson’s seminal 1993 album, “Janet.,” in the context of being a woman of 2017. That is, she describes a woman’s inner world in today’s hyper-modern, self-aware society. And what is love, of course? Can’t talk about ‘being’ with addressing that definitive subject. Gonzalez worked on these songs over the last four years with some collaboration from her hubby Cole M.G.N. , with appearances from Dâm-Funk, Droop-E and Julia Holter. The first single, “2 Good 2 Be True,” comes with a mysteriously cool video directed by wild woman Geneva Jacuzzi.
