Future Islands celebrated singer Sam Herring’s birthday with a sold-out show at The Roxy on April 13. Herring commented that he’s 33, “but people think I’m 45.” It was the Baltimore trio’s first time performing at The Roxy. Does anyone remember them playing The Smell in 2010? The energetic set included songs from their newly released album, “The Far Field” as well as favorites from “Singles” and beyond. San Fernando Valley duo Midnight Sister opened the show.
