The Pixies’ richly rewarding 90-plus-minute concert Tuesday night at the Theatre at Ace Hotel was a tale of two eras — a generous helping of songs from their four seminal albums released during Part I of their career and a sampling of their strong new material. In fact, the 30-song set included almost as many tunes — five — from their first mini-LP “Come on Pilgrim” (celebrating its 30th birthday later this year) as from last year’s “Head Carrier,” the first on which new bassist Paz Lenchantin contributed. Black Francis and gang played six songs off “Head Carrier,” highlighted by “Um Chagga Lagga” and “All I Think About Now.” Sprinkled through out the set were favorites “Where Is My Mind?,” “Monkey Gone to Heaven,” “Wave of Mutilation,” “Here Comes Your Man” and, to finish the show, “Hey.”

Setlist: Gouge Away, Head On, Um Chagga Lagga, Caribou, Monkey Gone to Heaven, Bel Esprit, U-Mass, Magdalena 318, Velouria, Havalina, Nimrod’s Son, All the Saints, Here Comes Your Man, Ed Is Dead, Mr. Grieves, Where Is My Mind?, Winterlong, Cactus, Bone Machine, Oona, Crackity Jones, Isla de Encanta, I’ve Been Tired, Might as Well Be Gone, All I Think About Now, Debaser, Wave of Mutilation, Rock Music, Tame, Hey.
