Headliners Ween and Sleater-Kinney will be joined by the likes of Ride, Charles Bradley, Los Lobos, Of Montreal, !!! (Chk Chk Chk), Alvvays and more at the second annual Music Tastes Good festival in Long Beach.

The weekend festival (Sept. 30 and Oct. 1), which made a strong first impression in its inaugural year, this year moves from the streets of downtown LBC to Marina Green Park (386 E. Shoreline Dr.). “We’ve modified the programming a lot this year, and we all hope a new location will allow us to pull off an another amazing fest that suits our new ideas,” said Chris Watson, the festival’s creative and marketing director. “If not, back to the streets in 2018.”

Tickets got on sale next Friday, May 12. Initially, general admission will tickets will be $65 for single-day passes and $120 for weekend passes, with VIP options at $210/$370. AFter two weeks, prices will bump to $75/$225 (single-day) and $135/$400 (weekend).

Once again, food will be an integral part of the KCRW-presented event, with a half-dozen chefs from New Orleans and a half-dozen from Long Beach offering fare in “The Taste Tent.”

The festival returns one year after the death of Music Tastes Good founder, artist/musician Josh Fischel, who died last Sept. 29 after a battle with liver disease, only days after the festival he conceived became reality. “My sweet husband was brimming with vision and creativity and passion and love for art in all its forms,” said Abbie Fischel, his widow. “It is no small task to create a fest that truly represents the man he was, but I think we have done him justice. Josh’s favorite thing was to give people the gift of experience … experience that hits on multiple levels: sight, sound, taste, touch, emotion. Through this fest, he continues to give that gift to us all.”

Besides the eclectic collection of top-line acts, the festival is also littered with local favorites, including Dengue Fever, Joyce Manor, Brainstory, TV Heads, Furcast and the Natives.
