The High & Low Festival, the latest multi-stage event to enter the Southern California festival fray, will debut Sept. 9 with Death Cab for Cutie, Brand New and Tegan and Sara headlining.

The one-day event, present by KROQ-FM, will be held at the NOS Event Center in San Bernardino, with 15 bands (including Best Coast, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Bad Suns, PUP and Cloud Nothings) in the initial lineup. More will be announced.

The festival is the brainchild of Andy Serrao, promoter and owner of the Orange County venue Chain Reaction. In the press release announcing the festival, he says: “Sonically, music has highs and lows, and emotional highs and lows, and with the California topography, we have the mountains, the desert and the ocean. The name High & Low fit for us, with the vision for where we wanted to go. Great music has got me through every aspect of my life. With every high and every low, came a soundtrack in my head that defined my life. This festival is a good representation of artists that do this for myself, and tons of other people.”

There will be a comedy stage and craft beer bar, among other amenities.

Tickets are $79; VIP passes are $259 and are available here.
