Since their 2015 debut “Before the World Was Big,” Girlpool has moved from their hometown of Los Angeles to Philadelphia and then back home again, and the songs on their sophomore album “Powerplant” cover as much emotional terrain. The duo of Harmony Tividad and Cleo Tucker, joined by multi-instrumentalist Steven Steinbrink and drummer Miles Wintner, shared some of those sentiments Tuesday night at the Teragram Ballroom. Their sold-out hometown show was full of their raw, concise songs, roller-coaster feelings and lively banter.

Tucker wore a Slayer jacket, and Tividad jokingly asked, “Where did you get your jacket, slayer?” Getting no response, Tividad said, “I didn’t mean to make fun of you, I’m jealous of the jacket. I love you.” And the crowd gave a loud “awwwww.”

Rose Dorn opened the night, followed by Snail Mail, whose Lindsey Jordan announced that she had just graduated high school the previous day in Baltimore.

Girlpool setlist: 123, Sleepless, Before The World Was Big, Your Heart, Corner Store, I Like That Your Can See It, Powerplant, Kiss and Burn, It Gets More Blue, Fast Dust, Ideal World, She Goes By, Soup, Static Somewhere, Chinatown, Cherry Picking.
